Tile Adhesives Classifications
It is also important that developers, builders understand that all the tile adhesives are not the same. There are different ranges of tile adhesives as classified by European standard EN 2041.below are the classified
- The economical tile adhesives which are for porous tiles and would not effectively hold large format tiles, non porous and vitrified tiles on walls & floors. They are more or less glorified pre-bagged cement/sand mix. They are mostly effective for porous tiles.
- European standard
Tile adhesives that fall into this category can be used for vitrified & non porous tiles. They can also be used for swimming pool tiles. There are a number of variants for this class such as Armorfix 109 for heavy duty tiling of non porous & vitrified tiles or Armorfix 110 which is fast set tile adhesives for vitrified and non porous tiles.
Other categories are anti-slip and flexible tile adhesives for large format tiles and non vitrified tiles for installation on walls & floors.
