Product Description
HYDROPLAST-50 is an innovative multi-purpose superplasticizer. It is a specially formulated admixture designed to increase strength and shorten curing time for concrete blocks and pavers. HYDROPLAST 50 is a ready to-use liquid admixture that produces a plasticizing effect by reducing the surface tension of the mixing water, allowing quicker wetting and more complete dispersion of the cement particles. Once incorporated in the mix, HYDROPLAST-50 has excellent air entrainment properties which controls the amount of microscopic air bubbles and increase the cohesion of wet or dry mix mortar or concrete. It is specially researched for the manufacture of block and paving stones.

HYDROPLAST-50 is typically used to produce:
- Masonry block units
- Paver slab
- Paving
HYDROPLAST-50 is formulated to comply with all the requirements of:
- ASTM C- 494, Type A
- EN 943, Part 2, Tables 1 and 2
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection during work
- Avoid contact with eyes and skin
- If skin contact occurs, wash skin thoroughly
- If in eyes, hold eyes open and flood with warm water and seek medical attention immediately
1.Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid aerosol formation. Avoid inhalation of mists/vapours. Avoid skin contact.
No special measures necessary provided product is used correctly.
2.Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities.
Further information on storage conditions: Keep only in the original container in a cool, dry, well ventilated place away from ignition sources, heat or flame. Protect from direct sunlight.
3.Dispose of contents/container to hazardous or special waste collection point.
Appearance: Dark brown liquid
Specific Gravity: 1.175 ± 0.005 at 20° C
Form: Liquid.
Smell: Pungent.
Chloride content: Nil
Additional air-entrainment: Less than 1%
Water-reduction: 10–20 % of mixing water
Setting Time: No effect at the recommended dosages.
Permeability: Reduces concrete porosity, improves waterproofing and durability.
Compressive strength: Increased early and ultimate compressive strengths
Cohesion: Improved cohesion reduces risk of segregation
Compatibility: Compatible with all types of Portland cement including Sulfate Resisting Cement (SRC)
Dosage is influenced by cement type, mix design, quality of used materials, ambient temperatures and other specific requirements, so site trials should be carried to determine the optimum dosage.Dosage: typically 1% – 2% by the weight of total cementitious content. In a situation of overdose, this may lead to delay in setting time but ultimately result in higher strength.
HYDROPLAST-50 should be added with the last third of mixing water or immediately after complete mixing water addition. Do not add directly to the dry mix or cement. For proper administration an automatic dispenser shall be used.
An overdose of HYDROPLAST-50 may result depending on dosage in an increase of workability and extension of setting time. Overdosed concrete must be protected against direct sun light and water evaporation.
Reactivity: No hazardous reactions if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.
Chemical stability: The product is stable if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.
